ISB

The Indian School of Business (ISB) located in Hyderabad, India, is an international business school providing postgraduate programmes in Management (Master of Business Administration - MBA), post doctoral programmes, as well as executive education programmes for business executives. It was founded on December 2, 1999 by a group of Fortune 500 entrepreneurs in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh's state government. Rajat Gupta, former Managing Director of McKinsey & Company worldwide and Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh played a key role in establishing the institution.

Indian School of Business's partners include Kellogg School of Management, Wharton Business School and London Business School The accelerated one-year post graduate programme course is ISB's speciality.

The Indian School of Business is listed as #20 among the top 100 global B-schools by the Financial Times annual MBA 2008 rankings. ISB is the first Indian B-School to find place in FT-Global B-School rankings and has made it to #20 in the very first year of its inclusion in FT Global Rankings.
The Indian School of Business is located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. It enjoys the locational advantage of being close to Microsoft(IDC,GDCI,MGSI), Infosys,Wipro,Virtusa and IIIT .The campus is rich in resources. ISB is well known for drawing some of the top leaders, both domestic and international, to its campus. US President George W.Bush visited ISB during his 2006 trip to India ,Indian Prime Minister, Dr.Manmohan Singh visited the ISB campus.

The one year programme in management education follows a combination of core courses, selected electives and an experiential learning project, which allows students to interact with the industry. The core courses, taught over eight terms, teach the basics of Financial Accounting,Corporate Finance,Competitive Strategy, Strategic Marketing, Marketing Decision Making, Investment Analysis, Operations Management, Fundamentals of E-Commerce and Technology and Government Society and Business.
The programme follows an April to April yearly schedule consisting of eight terms out of which four are for Core courses and four for Electives. The Experiential Learning Project is an integral part of the programme in which students, in groups of three to four, work on live projects in a corporate environment.
The institute places emphasis on students with prior work experience and has a recommended minimum work experience of 2 years. The admission process invites applications from students with good Graduate Management Admission Test scores and relevant work experience. The shortlisted students are then interviewed by a panel of two to three people mostly drawn from the ISB faculty and alumni.

ISB faculty come from amongst the top business schools. They offer their expertise in designing a curriculum that is created based on their experiences in research and interactions with global organizations.

The institute believes in nurturing research in management and aims to contribute to the academicians and the industry. The Business Research Fellowship Programme (BRE) intends to focus on issues afflicting industries in both developing and developed markets.
The duration of the programme is up to 2 years and 4 months. The fellows would be required to publish their research in business/management in leading journals and also help the faculty in classes and in research. The school also provides qualified fellows opportunity to spend a couple of semesters in top business schools.
The programme expects the individual to demonstrate capabilities to do research. It looks for scholars with Ph. D in computer science, Statistics, Operational Research etc. The selection is based on past research, Statement of Purpose, Recommendations followed by an on-campus presentation and interview.

The Center for Executive Education (CEE) conducts management programmes of short and long term duration for middle and top management executives. The faculty for these programmes are drawn from the best across the globe in imparting executive trainings and with exposure to consulting for large organizations.

Education

Hyderabad is an important seat of learning in southern India. The city hosts two central universities, three deemed universities, and six state universities. About Hyderabad

Basically Hyderabad is pronounced as (hydarabad or hardrabae), it is the fifth largest metropolis of India, is the state capital of Andhra Pradesh, known for its rich history and culture with monuments, mosques, temples, a rich and varied heritage in arts, crafts and dance.
The history behind hyderabad name is very popular theory suggests that after founding the city Quli Qutub Shah fell in love with and married a local Banjara girl known as Bhagmathi or Bhagyavathi naming the city as Bhagyanagaram.When Bhagavathi converted to Islam, she changed her name to Hyder Mahal and thus the city named as Hyderabad.

Location&Climate

Hyderabad is located in the centre of india, Most of the area has rocky terrain and some areas are hilly it is the capital of Andhra pradesh ,The average temperature during the months of summer is anywhere around 40 degree centigrade.it has a tropical wet and dry climate with hot summers from late feb to early june , the monsoon season from late june to early oct and a warm winter from late oct to early feb. in rainy season it will get about 32 inches of rain every year, the lowest recorded temperature was 10 degree centigrade.it is not as hot as delhi in summer nor cold.it is quite good climate which suites for everyone.it is a comibination of wet and dry climate
it lies on the Deccan plateau,541 meters(1776 ft)above sea level,over an area of 260 km(100 miles) temperature will be in between 25-40 degrees celsius. Winters are mild and pleasant while it is cool and breezy during the monsoon.

Charminar is a famous place for shopping ,where we can get fabulous design of sarees ,Bangles, dupatas.Especially Indian women are found of Bangles,these ornaments worn by women on their arms and wrists. they are usually circular in shape and unlike braceletes are not flexible బంగ్లె are part of the traditional indian jewelry,indian bangles are usually worn in pairs, one or more on each arm and single bangles are rarely sold. they are made up of materials like gold,silver,platinum,glass,wood,ferrous metals,plastic.A bangle normally as worn by people all over is simply an inflexible piece of jewelry worn around the wrist. However, in many cultures especially in the Arabian Peninsula and more importantly in South Asia bangles have evolved into a various types in which different ones are used in different ఒచ్కాసిఒంస్

You know the name Laad is believed to be an distortion of the world “Lord”, and was originally named after Lord Rippon!!!Laad Bazaar is the biggest bangle bazaar in the world and once you step in at Laad the rows of glittering bangle shops invite you in. The lure of bangles still draws millions of women who love to adorn their arms with a dazzling set of Hyderabadi bangles.There are about 450 shops flanking either side of the world famous Charminar with around 2,500 craftsmen molding their magic around your arms. The accent here is on color, glitter and sheen.


Laad bazar market is a prominent treasure-house of lacquer bangles, pearls, semi-precious stones, brocade, velvet, saris, gold embroidered fabrics, sherwanis, ethnic khara (starched) dupattas and perfumes. The market was named after 'Laad', which is actually a material to make bangles.


Before purchasing, make sure to bargain with the shopkeepers because they generally quote higher price. Perhaps it could appear odd in a momentary look, but most of the stores make their customers sit on the floor that is carpeted from wall to wall. As the stores have limited space, they make such seating arrangement to ensure maximum room. Being located in a small lane that twigs from Charminar, Laad Bazaar can be visited on foot or by taking rickshaws available there.
